Lucerne in 2010

Future Valley Lucerne: Winner project of the artistic competition K17-Root-Roundabout, 2008

Lucerne's growth is being driven by the private and public sectors working together: major firms such as Sage and AC Nielsen are expanding their activities here. Canton Lucerne invested over CHF 1 billion in 2005 in its education and training, cultural and leisure facilities. And private investors are backing the Ebisquare development - a new style of shopping and leisure experience in the Lucerne suburb of Ebikon destined to be the focus of international attention.

Effective 2010, you'll be able to drive direct to Zurich airport, use the new Buchrain and Rothenburg motorway exits, back your favourite team at the new Allmend sports arena and shop till you drop at Ebisquare. Aside from the traffic and transport infrastructure that's improving all the time, rolling revisions to the tax regime in 2005, 2008 and 2011 are enhancing canton Lucerne's appeal as a place to live and work. The aim? A strong canton with a strong heart and equally strong regions.
