Is a mass exodus out of the UK really likely?
It seems the enthusiasm for leaving the UK is still as strong as ever. More than 80 wealthy individuals, companies, hedge funds, wealth management firms and banks attended a Swiss tax seminar in London this month. The event was jointly promoted by canton Lucerne, accountants BDO and Relocate to Switzerland and aimed to promote the canton's new tax levels due to take effect in 2012.

Low Swiss Corporate Taxes Interest London's Financial Community
Lucerne has declared to have the lowest corporate taxes of all Swiss cantons by 2012. Corpare taxes will be between 10 to 13 per cent, the canton has said. The canton is hoping to attract companies based in other countries or Swiss cantons to relocate.

Switzerland and the Netherlands Sign New Double Tax Treaty
On 26 Februar 2010 Switzerland and the Netherlands signed a new double tax treaty (DTT) to replace the exisiting DTT of 1951. The new DTT has to be approved by the respective legislative bodies of the contracting states and could enter into force on 1 January 2011 at the earliest.
